John Bell

John advises Boards, investors, CEOs and senior business leaders on their most critical human capital decisions, including executive recruitment, leadership assessment, succession planning and organizational design. John believes that people are a company’s most important asset. He thrives on recognizing and recruiting talent, enabling the advancement of both clients and candidates. While paying careful attention to the competencies required to succeed, John believes that establishing a strong culture fit is the most important criteria in a successful placement. When it comes to measuring success, John is focused on client outcomes. His goal is to place candidates who exceed client’s expectations in their ability to deliver value, and to enable the development of talented, ambitious leaders.

While he has consulted with a diverse set of clients, John’s passion and deepest expertise is in financial services. John demonstrates broad functional expertise, having successfully recruited non-executive board members, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Chief Risk Officers, Chief Credit Officers, Chief Information Officers, Heads of Sales, SVPs of Human Resources, and Heads of Internal Audit and Compliance, in addition to recruiting many direct reports to the C-suite.

Prior to joining Miller+Boyd in 2015, John spent ten years at Russell Reynolds Associates (RRA), a global human capital consultancy. At RRA, he was a leader in the firm’s Consumer and Commercial Financial Services practice. John started his career working for his alma mater, Davidson College, where he spent six years in Admissions and later in College Relations, where he raised capital gifts as part of a successful $270 million capital campaign.

A native of New York City, John is married and has two wonderful children. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
